Calculator data
Calculator inputs and results are processed locally in your browser. A small draft may be stored in localStorage so an interrupted session can resume; it expires after seven days and can be removed immediately with Reset or by clearing site data.
Do not enter Social Security numbers, bank credentials, tax-account passwords, or other sensitive identifiers. The calculators do not request them.
Approximate state suggestion
The optional state suggestion calls a same-site endpoint that reads Cloudflare’s coarse region code and returns only a two-letter U.S. state when available. It does not return an IP address to the page and you can always override the suggestion.
The suggestion is not proof of residence, domicile, work location, or tax jurisdiction.
Hosting and operational logs
Cloudflare may process request metadata needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, user agent, requested path, timestamp, and security signals, under its applicable services terms. GigTakeHome does not add advertising trackers in this release.
Short-lived operational logs may be used for security, reliability, and aggregate performance. They are not combined with calculator inputs because those inputs are not submitted.
Email and external links
If you email us, your email provider and ours process the message and address. We use it to answer, investigate reports, and maintain necessary correspondence.
Links to IRS, EIA, payment providers, and platforms lead to services with their own privacy practices.
